Badminton is a fast-paced racket sport played with a shuttlecock (birdie). It can be played:

  • Singles (1 vs 1)
  • Doubles (2 vs 2)

Players hit the shuttle over a net, aiming to land it in the opponent’s court.

  • Length: 13.4 meters (44 feet)
  • Width:
    • Singles: 5.18 meters (17 feet)
    • Doubles: 6.1 meters (20 feet)

📐 Key Areas of Court

  • Net Height:
    • Center: 1.524 meters
    • Posts: 1.55 meters
  • Service Court:
    Divided into left and right sections for serving.
  • Short Service Line:
    Minimum distance for a valid serve.
  • Long Service Line (Doubles):
    Shorter than the back boundary line.
  • Center Line:
    Divides left & right service courts.

🏸 Basic Rules (Quick)

  • Match usually played to 21 points
  • Must win by 2 points
  • Serve diagonally
  • Shuttle must not touch ground inside your court

  • Practice footwork (very important!)
  • Focus on smash, drop, clear shots
